IATSE Secures New Contract for ‘Beast Games’ Season 3 Production Crew

The International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) announced on May 11, 2026, that it has reached a new collective bargaining agreement with the producers of “Beast Games” Season 3, the fantasy‑drama series filmed in Greenville, North Carolina. The contract covers more than 500 crew members, providing back pay for pre‑production work and expanded health benefits.

The agreement arrives as the entertainment industry continues to grapple with labor disputes over wages, working conditions, and residuals in the streaming era. “Beast Games,” a hit on HBO Max, entered production on its third season in early 2026, prompting crew unions to seek improved terms amid rising production costs.

Variety reported that IATSE President Scott Miller said, “This contract ensures our members receive the compensation they deserve for the demanding work they perform.” The producers, represented by the Guild of Producers, emphasized their commitment to a collaborative relationship, noting the importance of the series to the regional economy.

Labor experts, such as Dr. Karen Lee of the Center for Media Labor Studies, view the deal as a benchmark for future negotiations on high‑budget streaming projects, potentially influencing contract standards across the industry. The agreement also includes provisions for overtime caps and safety protocols, addressing concerns raised during the series’ first two seasons.

The new contract will take effect immediately, with season 3 slated to premiere on HBO Max in late 2026. IATSE plans to monitor compliance throughout production and will convene a follow‑up meeting with producers in early 2027 to assess the agreement’s impact on crew morale and retention.
