North Korean women’s club to play in South Korea, first visit in eight years

Naegohyang Women’s FC from North Korea will participate in the 2025‑26 AFC Women’s Champions League hosted in South Korea, marking the first time North Korean players have set foot on South Korean soil in eight years. Officials say the move could use sport to ease long‑standing political tensions, although Pyongyang continues to label Seoul a hostile state. The club’s participation was confirmed by both the team and the Asian Football Confederation.
