The scandal emerges amid broader concerns about the penetration of cryptocurrency platforms into the Israeli defense establishment. Polymarket, a U.S.‑based platform that allows users to wager on real‑world events, has faced scrutiny for lax verification processes, prompting regulators worldwide to consider tighter oversight.
