Cigna announces exit from ACA exchanges in 2027, adding to marketplace turmoil

Health insurer Cigna said it will leave the Affordable Care Act exchanges beginning in 2027, becoming the latest large carrier to withdraw after the expiration of enhanced federal subsidies. The announcement came during a strong first‑quarter earnings call that reported $1.7 billion in net income. Cigna’s exit further strains the individual marketplace.
