Cambodia conducts water and sediment testing after community pollution complaints

Following health concerns voiced by residents of Mondul Yorn village in Ratanakiri province, Cambodia’s Ministry of Environment dispatched teams to test water and sediment in the O’Ta Bouk River on 13 February. The Inland Fisheries Research and Development Institute carried out additional sampling from 17‑20 February, but as of the May 3 report, no public results have been released. The story underscores ongoing uncertainty about water quality impacts on local health.
